FabLab Playshop: Walter Mercado

In this playshop, FabLab Teaching Artist Réal Vargis Alanis (they/them) will introduce us to Walter Mercado on March 5th, 2022 from 6pm-8pm PST. This is a hybrid event with both an online streaming option and an in-person gathering located at the PlayGround PlaySpace (3286 Adeline Street, Berkeley). No Experience Necessary. Open to non-artists as well as artists of all mediums. 

Come embody the essence of queer ancestor Walter Mercado with Cumbia, Tarot readings, and Telenovela games. Walter Mercado was a much celebrated Puerto Rican astrologer, actor, dancer, and writer known for his bejeweled capes and his wildly creative and love-centered daily horoscope readings, that he gave for many years internationally on television. Join us in dancing his spirit into our creative lives with Réal Vargis Alanis (they/them)!
