Dr. Kristin Vogel-Campbell (she/her/hers)
Kristin Vogel-Campbell, Ed.D. (she/her/hers) has nearly twenty years of experience in Special Education in a variety of roles. She began her career as a Special Education aide at the Chinatown Head Start in New York City, and has taught in a variety of settings in California with students aged 5-14. She has served as a district level Program Specialist, Director of Special Education, and is currently a Coordinator of Special Education for a PK-8 suburban school district in Northern California. Dr. Vogel-Campbell received her undergraduate degree from Hunter College, City University of New York; her Master’s from New York University, and her Doctorate of Education from California State University, East Bay. Her research centers the perspectives of parents and families from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. Oftentimes these voices are disregarded and silenced, when they should be valued, respected, and celebrated. She has presented at local, national, and international conferences on the intersection of disability and identities. Kristin was drawn to the work of Eye Zen because of the focus on researching and elevating the stories and realities of 2SLGBTQIA+ elders and connecting our community with its rich and robust history. She is an avid bibliophile and discophile, and is a dedicated Trekkie.
